Description
Galamer 4 mg is a prescription treatment for mild to moderate dementia in patients with Alzheimer’s disease. It contains the active ingredient Donepezil, which helps to improve memory, thinking ability in patients with Alzheimer’s. This drug is not a cure for the neurological disorder, but it slows the loss of cognitive functions and improves the patient’s awareness and ability to perform daily tasks. Donepezil belongs to a class of drugs known as a cholinesterase inhibitor which increases the secretion of a chemical called acetylcholine in the brain. This, in turn, reduces symptoms of dementia in patients with Alzheimer’s disease. The medicine is not meant for use in patients with severe liver or kidney problems.
