Lan 15 mg is used to treat Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), stomach ulcers, esophagitis and Zollinger Ellison syndrome. Lan capsules consist of Lansoprazole. Lansoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor drug. Lansoprazole decreases the amount of acid that is produced by the linings of the stomach. The medicine is a proton pump inhibitor and it is known that it works by decreasing the number of acids produced by the stomach. It gives relief from the symptoms of acidity and this allows the healing to take place.
Be sure to make all your appointments with your doctor so your progress can be checked. If you ever go to the hospital, then surely inform the doctor that you are taking this medicine. Do not give this medicine to anyone even if they have a similar problem. Some medicines and Lansoprazole may interfere with each other. If you are on a dose of Lan 15 mg, you may have to stop taking one of the medicines such as carbamazepine, sucralfate telaprevir, ritonavir, cyclosporin, warfarin, vitamin e, vancomycin, digoxin, celecoxib, fluconazole, pentamidine, and rifampin. The commonly recommended dosage is 15 mg capsules taken once a day. The drug dosage can be increased up to 60 mg daily. It is especially important to take the drug as per the doctor recommend. Swallow the capsules whole with a full glass of water. You can take the drug with food.
