Description
Suminat 100 mg is a prescription medicine for patients with acute migraine headaches with or without aura in adults. It helps to relieve the symptoms of migraine and prevents the attack from becoming worse. The medicine contains the active ingredient Sumatriptan, which belongs to the class of drugs known as Triptans. One of the significant reasons for migraines symptoms could be the temporary widening of blood vessels in the head. Triptans are known to reduce the widening of these blood vessels. This, in turn, relieves the symptoms of a migraine attack such as throbbing pain in the head, the feeling of being sick, and sensitivity to light and sound. Note- The medicine will not prevent or decrease the number of migraine episodes. Also, it is still not known whether this antimigraine drug is safe and effective to treat cluster headaches. Patients under 18 years of age must discuss the safety and effectiveness of medicine before taking it.
The possible side effects of Suminat 100 mg are flushing, dizziness, nausea, pain, redness, neck stiffness, swelling, stomach upset, bruising, sinus discomfort and weakness. The anti-migraine drug may also lead to some serious side effects. These severe side effects may include sudden or severe stomach pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, weight loss, fever, bloody diarrhoea. People using Suminat 100 mg tablets may experience problems with reduced blood circulation in your legs. Symptoms include cramping and pain in legs, burning or aching pain in your feet while in a resting state, and numbness in your legs.
It would be best if you take Suminat 100 mg under the supervision of a doctor. Take the tablets exactly as your doctor tells you to. Your doctor may change your dose according to your condition. Do not make any changes in your dosing schedule without speaking with your doctor. Take the tablet with a glass of water. If you do not get relief after taking the first tablet, do not consume the next dose without discussing with your doctor. If your headache returns, you may be asked to take a second tablet two hours after the first tablet. Do not take more than two tablets in 24 hours. Taking too much can increase your risk of side effects. This antimigraine drug is not recommended for children under 18 years old and people aged over 65.
