Persol gel 2.5% is a topical therapy for patients with mild to moderate acne. It may be used in conjunction with another anti-acne topical formulation. The active component of the medicine is benzoyl peroxide, which reduces the number of bacteria that contributes to acne formation. Apply it to the affected area once daily to see a significant reduction in your acne. Do not apply on cuts, wounds or itchy skin. Sun protection is a must with a Benzoyl peroxide formulation. Do not use the gel formulation if you have a known allergy to it or if you are also using Tretinoin. The medicine may cause your skin to dry and peel. Consult a dermatologist for further details.
